Prevent all damage to you or a creature you control from any one source. If that source is black, gain 1 life for each 1 damage prevented in this way.

Light creates shadow; light destroys shadow. Such is the transience of darkness.

Shadowbane is one of the new-style "color hosers" in Mirage. Each color has a spell that, while good in its own right, also has a kicker against an opposing color. Blue has Ether Well; black has Kaervek's Hex; red has Sirocco; and green has Tropical Storm.
