Stories Never End

"If I said this tale has a happy ending, would you believe me? If I said that the Bwire saved his own life at the cost of the Spirit's, would this be a good thing or a bad one? Bwire thought little of this cost, for his world has a population of one, and you can trust that the dying Spirit of the Night was not that one.

"It is enough to say that Bwire escaped with what little scraps of life still clung to him like wet leaves, and passed to the south, to a city many hard days' march from the Ntatsu Plain. But the two were not separated forever, as I will someday tell you--I must save a few stories for the next time we meet, eh?

"And what of Fola and Jojo? Shall I tell you how they found what was most important in themselves in the form of a small yellow stone? And after such a long day, do you suppose either of them could remain the same? I thought not--Fola and Jojo may return to what they've always known, but the world will be a different color for each of them from now on.

"So who shall I tell you of--Fola?

"Jojo?"

"Or shall we say goodbye for now?"
